Agua Amarga is a small, beautiful
and tranquil fishing village on the south-eastern coast
of Spain. Tucked in the heart of the Almerian nature
reserve of Cabo de Gata, Agua Amarga is situated on
a quiet, sheltered bay with over half a mile of magnificent
beach. There you can drift the day away in one of Spain's
sunniest locales, or for the more energetic, there are
a range of water sports.
Walks along the cliffs will take you to the lighthouse,
Faro de la Mesa de Roldán or through the many
maritime villages that dot the coast. Inland lies the
spectacular scenery, unique to this part of Andalucia,
with its deserts and mountains.
Or you can explore Agua Amarga itself, with its array
of shops, attractive bars and welcoming restaurants.
