In the mouth of the Llobregat in Barcelona, Costa del Garraf is a low, abrupt, sandy coast. The coastline along the Garraf massif is dotted with small coves and from here down to the southern part of Sitges it becomes sandy once again.
The climate is temperate and is characterised by mild winters. The average temperature of the water is 16.3 ºC and reaches a maximum of 26.7 ºC. The most interesting places from the cultural point of view are the museums of Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú, the numerous sights, and tourist centres, such as Sant Pere de Ribes and the marinas in La Ginesta and Aiguadolç.
The main blue-flagged beaches in Garraf are found in Castelldefels - Sitges: La Ribera, Sant Sebastian, Garraf, Aiguadolc, La Barra, in Vilanova i la Geltru: Ribes Roges and in Cubelles: Playa Larga, Riera Xica.
