| Near the beach there is a pleasant
promenade, which is safe for children. Behind the town
there is a small chapel, Sant Roc, on top of a mountain
which is accessible on foot, and which gives interesting
views.
In L'Almadrava you can walk by the
sea and visit the chapel of Sant Jaume.
In the mountains:
In Vandellós, there is the
church of Sant Andreu ( 1773). The squares and streets
in the town are typical of this area and if you continue
until you reach the top of the mountain, you will be
rewarded with splendid views. There are also paths along
which you can take mountain walks.
At Masboquera there is a Riding Center,
why not trek through the mountains on horseback.
At Masriudoms you can see the 13th
century steeple with its bell and nearby the plaça
de la Font ( Fountain) you will find a small open-air
wash house.
History:
This area has a long history
which dates from 1191, when the village of Vandellós
( which means Valley of Laurel) received a Royal Charter.
In 1346, Hospitalet de L'Infant was born thanks to Peter
("infante Pere") who founded the old hospital
which bore the name.
