Bielsa is situated on the verge of the Valley ‘Valle de Pineta’ and ‘the Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido’ with several mountain-tops more than 3000 meters of altitude. Its city centre is an important commercial and tourist centre, given its proximity to the international tunnel to France and at only 12 kms, which allows to make many and varied excursions to the 2 sides of the border. At the other side, in France, there are in the first place the ski slopes of Piau-Engaly, (25 kms), and a little bit further down those of Saint-Lary Soulan (35 kms). Lourde, famous place of pilgrimage, is situated at about 100 kms, and at 150 kms we can arrive at Toulouse. |
