On the Costa de Almeria you can combine the sun-drenched beaches of Southern Spain with a relaxed atmosphere that is sometimes missing from the main 'costas'.
The coastline stretches out on either side of the city of Almeria, with long beaches of sand and shingle lapped by the warm waters of the Mediterranean. If you prefer to improve your suntan away from the crowds, the beaches of Mojacar and Roquetas will be just what you are looking for. There's lots of space and not too many people. Even the watersports tend to be more low key - the gentle breezes are ideal for windsurfing.
